Does the Department of State contract cover all Department Of State (DOS) Employees?
No. this contract is only for DOS employees who are on Permanent Change of Station (PCS) either returning from overseas assignments or new hires en route to another overseas assignments attending Foreign Services Institute (FSI).  Additional restrictions may apply, to find out if you qualify contact the Human Resources for authorization and should call 1.202.663.3600 or e-mail hrpcslodging@state.gov to receive a travel authorization number (TAN).

How much will I need to pay
Nothing.  If qualified the employee pays nothing and will not have to submit vouchers for reimbursement.  You will simply forfeit your per diem allowance and the Department of State will be direct billed for your stay.   All charges outside of standard housing costs such as long distance, pet fees, dry cleaning,  and non-authorized nights stay such as home leave.

Yes.  Approved M&IE allowances are not effected by participating in this program.

Yes, the following properties are included:

Oakwood Crystal City
 
Also, Oakwood does provide other locations in working with Department of State employees Per Diems; however, those properties are not part of this program and will not be direct billed.

Are Pets welcome?
Yes, Oakwood Falls Church allows 1 dog and 1 cat per apartment.   Additional deposits and fees apply and are not covered under this program.  They will be at the individual travelers expense.  Note that specific aggressive breeds are not permitted and all animals must be accompanied by proper documentation of shots and inoculations. Call for more details.

What size apartments are available?
Oakwood Falls Church provides spacious studio, one, and two bedroom accommodations.  One and two bedroom apartments come with a choice of King and/or Twin beds.   A limited number of three bedrooms apartments may be available at alternative locations for larger families.

How do we make a reservation?
Call 1.888.998.3265 and contact National Account Coordinator Kathleen Summerfield. Kathleen will work with you to confirm a reservation if you have already received approval for the program and have a Travel Authorization Number.  If you have not yet been approved, Kathleen will make a tentative reservation until your approval has been completed with the DOS.
