CORPORATE HOUSING PROVIDERS ASSOCIATION
Oakwood is a member of the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA), the trade organization representing the interests of the corporate housing industry.
Oakwood is well respected in the organization. Oakwood won the "Provider of the Year" award from CHPA in 2002. Gavan James, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oakwood Corporate Housing, was a founding board member of CHPA, and continues to serve as a board member. Mr. James was also President of CHPA between 1998 and 2002, and was named "Member of the Year" in 2003.
EMPLOYEE RELOCATION COUNCIL
The Employee Relocation Council (Worldwide ERC) offers research, professional development, advocacy, and networking for corporations and governmental organizations with relocating employees around the world, and the companies who serve them.
T.J. Himmelfarb, Oakwood's Vice President of National Accounts, served on the ERC Board of Directors from 2000-2003, and was appointed as a trustee for Worldwide ERC's Foundation for Workforce Mobility in 2004. She has also received a Meritorious Service Award and a Distinguished Service Award from Worldwide ERC.

Oakwood has teamed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to deliver our guests preferred rates and great service on rental cars. An Oakwood representative can even book your rental car for you. You'll have the option to pick up the car, arrange for Enterprise to pick you up to retrieve it, or have it delivered to you at Oakwood. Like Oakwood, Enterprise is top in its industry in customer service. It's also the largest rental car company in North America, with thousands of locations, including one near every major airport. Enterprise is onsite at three Oakwood properties in California, Oakwood Marina del Rey, Oakwood Mountain View, and Oakwood Toluca Hills.
NATIONAL BUSINESS TRAVEL ASSOCIATION
Oakwood is a member of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), which includes business travel service providers and travel management professionals. NBTA provides education, research, and advocacy to help Oakwood and other members better serve their clients.
NATIONAL MULTI-HOUSING COUNCIL
Oakwood is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), a national association representing the top providers of multi-family housing. Founded in 1975, NMHC provides advocacy, research, and information on a range of topics.
Howard Ruby (Oakwood's Founder and Chairman) and Tom Hunter (Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oakwood Apartment Management) are both Executive Committee members of the NMHC Board of Directors.
UNITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS
Oakwood donates emergency housing to the Washington, D.C. chapter of the United Service Organizations (USO), a non-profit organization that provides social, recreational, and other services to United States military personnel and their families. We help the USO to offer free furnished housing to military personnel and their families who are in extreme financial need, and to families of critically or terminally ill personnel being treated at local military hospitals.
