Ric Villarreal Senior Vice President and CIO Oakwood Worldwide As Oakwood Worldwide's Senior Vice President and CIO, Ric Villarreal directs the strategic implementation of key programs and initiatives that make up the platform enabling Oakwood's plans for aggressive growth. Villarreal also leads Oakwood's Information Technology team as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for its technology strategy, which includes the migration from its 20-year old legacy environment to a leading edge .NET platform.
Some of Villarreal's most notable initiatives include implementation of a Thin Client architecture, which has saved Oakwood millions in PC support and maintenance since its deployment. This has allowed Oakwood to implement a "Migration and Integration" platform. The platform gives Oakwood the ability to implement off-the-shelf software applications, and the ability to integrate with most any customer's automated processes.
Villarreal joined Oakwood in 1997 as the Director of Process Engineering, championing a new direction of business processes for Oakwood Corporate Housing, Oakwood's third party corporate housing division. He currently directs a staff of 46 in the Information Systems Department and the Program Management Office.
Villarreal's latest project for Oakwood Worldwide has been to complete a Siebel Sales and Call Center implementation, and his team was able to do so in less than four months.
Prior to Oakwood, Villarreal had a successful 16-year tenure at Xerox Corporation, where he worked in various capacities within the Printing & Copier Divisions during their heyday. Villarreal was a Call Center Manager, an Account Executive, and a Director of Training and Video Productions. He oversaw one of the first Total Quality Management (TQM) design teams that earned Xerox the Malcom Baldrige award.
Villarreal is a Certified Process Engineer (CPE) and is certified in Total Quality Management (TQM). He participates on the advisory board of several Fortune 100 companies, and is an active member of the National Management Association.
He currently resides in Los Feliz, California with his wife, and is the proud father of two sons and a grandfather of two. |
