FILMING GUIDELINES
At Oakwood Worldwide, we allow commercial filming or photography on our property on a case-by-case basis. We require a minimum of two weeks notice prior to filming to consider your request. If you are interested in filming at an Oakwood property, please fill out the Filming Request Form and submit it to Maureen de Castro, Video & Services Support via email at mdecastro@oakwood.com, or by fax at 1.310.444.2531.
Each filming request will be evaluated based on:
- Production needs including dates and times of filming, number of people involved, amount of parking necessary, catering, etc.
- The property's capacity to host the production.
- Content of the project.
- Level of inconvenience to our guests and employees, including noise, closure of facilities, parking situations, etc.
- Whether the production will be renting a block of apartments with Oakwood or using Oakwood to house their talent and crew during filming.
- If a major star is involved.
- If Oakwood will be mentioned in a positive way on the show and/or if any establishing shots with our signage will be used.
Location Fee:
A location fee will be assessed based on size of the production and how involved the filming will be. The fee ranges from $1000-$15,000 per day.
In determining the location fee, we will take into consideration any possible publicity our property may receive from the filming, and whether your production is renting a block of units with Oakwood to house your crew and/or talent. If the property is full, near full, or sold out, we will not be able to accommodate your production.
Location Agreement:
If we are able to agree on acceptable terms with your production company, then we can draft and sign a Location Agreement that clearly stipulates the terms of property usage, including set-up/tear down times, dates of shoot, number of people and cars allowed, where on the property filming can take place, etc. Before any filming is to commence, Oakwood's corporate office must receive the following:
- Proof of Liability Insurance with Oakwood named as an additional insured for at least $1 million.
- All agreed-upon fees.
- Proof of Worker's Compensation insurance.
