Kirkland, a suburb of Seattle, has more public waterfront than any other city in the state of Washington. Residents enjoy waterfront parks with beaches, swimming areas and marinas along Lake Washington, and the athletic fields, courts, playgrounds and trails in the city’s inland parks. Bridle Trails State Park has 20 miles of trails winding through lush forests. Lake Washington Boulevard is the place for walking, jogging, bicycling and skating. Kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing are popular on Lake Washington itself. The Kirkland Performance Center offers live theatre, ballet, music and children’s productions. There are also many great restaraunts and shopping centers.
