The residence is surrounded by boutiques, restaurants and parks of Aoyama. Aoyama is a center for Japan's music industry, haute couture and also a business center. In addition, many leading technology companies are located in Jingumae and nearby Shibuya.

Oakwood Residence Aoyama is located near the Gaienmae Subway Station on the Ginza line. The Aoyama-Itchome and Omotesando Subway Stations are both within walking distance. Taxis are readily available near the property.

  • The National Stadium is open to the public and includes a gym, indoor pool and sauna. The track is available for jogging.
  • Jingu Baseball Stadium is the home of professional baseball's Yakult Swallows. • Prince Chichibu Rugby Ground nearby is always active with Japanese rugby matches.
  • Meiji Jingu Ice Skating Rink is open year-round.
  • Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, another Tokyo Olympic Games venue, is now a popular venue for basketball and volleyball games and has a main arena that can seat 10, 000. The 25-meter and 50-meter swimming pools are open to the public.
  • Meiji Shrine is set in a serene atmosphere set by birdsong and the murmuring of streams. The thickly-wooded compound includes an Inner Garden where irises bloom in June, and the Treasure Museum displaying items associated with Emperor Meiji and Empress Dowager Shoken. This building is modeled after the Shosoin storehouse in Nara.
  • The National Noh Theatre is devoted to presenting classical noh and its accompanying comic drama form kyogen, training young actors and musicians, and documenting performances.
  • Yoyogi Park, located next to Meiji Shrine, is a huge public expanse of green, providing assorted areas for relaxation and recreation.
  • Omotesando -- This avenue, literally meaning "the front approach to the Shrine, " originally served Meiji Shrine. Nowadays, Omotesando's cosmopolitan sidewalk cafes offer some of the best people-watching in the capital. Kiddy Land is great for the latest toy crazes and the Oriental Bazaar is packed with the best Japanese souvenirs and products.
  • Watarium Museum -- An intriguing shop and exhibition space, the Watarium was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta. Contemporary art and design are emphasized in the selection of merchandise and in the choice of exhibits, with photographs and architecture often receiving special attention.
  • Tokyo Union Church - a non-denominational Christian church is located on Omotesando.
  • Togo Shrine - This shrine holds one of the most well-known antique markets in Tokyo on the first and fourth Sunday of each month. You will find a variety of items such as kimonos, porcelain, record players and antique furniture.
