A quiet residential community of approximately 34,000 year-round residents, Lacey is located in Thurston County, at the south end of Puget Sound. Seattle is 60 miles to the north, and Olympia, the state’s capital, is five miles west. Interstate 5 provides access in and out of the region. Industries that provide employment in Lacy include educational, health and social services, public administration and retail trade. There are several exciting restaurants nearby and plenty of shopping centers to keep you going. For outdoorsmen, there are two large state parks within driving distance, Tolmie and Millersylvania, provide facilities for hiking, biking, camping, boating, fishing and swimming. Beachgoers enjoy Tolmie State Park’s stretch of saltwater shoreline on Puget Sound. Also popular are nearby museums dedicated to preserving the local history.
