Global Measures

Enhancement of Operational Standards

Enhancement of Operational Standards

Partnership with An External Accreditation Body:
We are working with a globally recognized accreditation body to review the Oakwood Clean360 program, co-develop checklists and audits as well as provide training on how to conduct audits. Regular audits are also conducted to ensure that these high operational standards are adhered to and new measures are introduced as the global situation evolves.

Oakwood Clean360 Ambassador:
Every property or cluster has an appointed Oakwood Clean360 ambassador who works closely with the appointed external accreditation firm to ensure that the strictest level of hygiene is adhered to, and operational standards are being met.

Safe Distancing:
Safe distancing as recommended by local authorities and regulatory bodies is observed at our front-of-house and back-of house areas as well as by external vendors which are within Oakwood's premises.

Accessibility to Hand Sanitizers:
Hand sanitizers are available for guests' and associates' use in public areas, front-of-house as well as back-of-house areas.

High-Touchpoints at Public Areas and Apartments:
High-touchpoint items in public areas (such as reading materials at the Residents' Lounge) are removed to minimize any possible contamination and guest contact. High-touchpoint fixtures in common areas and apartments (ie. door handles, light switches, faucets and remote controls) are subject to enhanced cleaning.

Stringent Laundry Protocols:
Enhanced protocols on the handling of laundry are in place to ensure the safety of guests and associates alike. These measures include the wearing of protective equipment by associates when handling laundry as well as the management of laundry trolleys when dirty laundry is being collected.

Hygiene Standards for Guests, Associates and External Vendors
Oakwood associates and external vendors are required to wear masks and where required, gloves while carrying out their duties. External vendors are also required to comply to Oakwood's stringent hygiene measures and standards while on-site.

With effect from August 5, 2020, face coverings will be required for all guests within the indoor public areas of all properties managed by Oakwood.

A Safe Sanctuary

A Safe Sanctuary

A Safe & Sanitary Residence:
Guests can be assured that each apartment will be vacant for at least 5 hours prior to check-in.

To reduce any possible exposure, cleaning of apartments will only be conducted when guests are not in-house and only one housekeeper will be permitted within the apartment at any one point-in-time. Stringent housekeeping measures and protocols are in place with regards to the cleaning of each apartment such as the use of a new set of disposable gloves by housekeepers each time, and the frequent sanitization of cleaning equipment between each use.

High-Touchpoints Within Apartments:
High-touchpoints within our apartments are removed (such as decorative pillows, door hangers, reading materials) and in place are digital alternative solutions such as our Press Reader app which allows guests to access an extensive digital library of over 7,000 reading titles spanning a wide genre.

Minimal Contact of Kitchenware:
Guests can be assured that during their stay, subject to the local property’s policy, only kitchenware which are left in the sink will be cleaned and sanitized. Unused kitchenware in the kitchen cabinets and drawers, which have all been sanitized and kept in reusable containers that come with an Oakwood Clean360 seal, will remain untouched by housekeepers.

Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa’s Measures

Capacity Control Measures:
Capacity control is observed in the public areas and facilities of our properties to ensure safe distancing. Management of Shared Amenities, Facilities & Services:
Common shared amenities such as apartment key cards will be sanitized after each use.

Aside from the capacity control measures, property facilities are also actively managed to ensure that the highest levels of hygiene and safety are being met. This includes the testing and tracking of swimming pool waters twice daily and the spreading out of fitness center equipment. Alternatively, safety screens are installed between each equipment.

Any vehicle used for guests' transportation is also thoroughly disinfected after each use and for shuttle services provided, capacity control will be in place.

Upon the approval of the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor, the apartment will be barred from further entry with exception of the guest. A sign will be placed within the apartment to assure the guest that there has not been any possible external contamination since.

Kitchen equipment and crockeries within all apartments are sterilized and sanitized with the latter kept within a sealed container to prevent contamination. Guests can be assured of a clean and safe kitchen from which they can prepare their own meals.

Dining Within the Apartment:
Guests have the option of having their breakfast delivered to their residence (ala breakfast-in-a-box), so that they may start their day right within the safety and comforts of their own sanctuary.

For in-room dining, this will be conducted on a contactless basis.

Enhanced Measures for Food & Beverage Outlets:
Food & beverage outlets at Oakwood's properties utilize technology to facilitate the ordering process. Where an outlet offers buffet dining, buffet counters are equipped with sneeze-guards and other operational measures are implemented to reduce guests' contact with food to minimize any potential exposure and contamination.

Fortifying Our Associates:
All Oakwood associates are trained to deal with various medical situations. Properties also practise effective scheduling of associates to reduce any potential exposure to risk.
