Dexter Tom joined Oakwood in 2019 as Vice President, Business Development.
Most recently, Tom served as Vice President of Feasibility at Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation for 12 years, where he oversaw the business launch and growth of the company’s Asia Pacific property portfolio and timeshare network. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Hotel Development at Marriott International and was responsible for the growth of brands including Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, The Ritz-Carlton, and Bulgari. He also directed feasibility efforts for the growth of Marriott’s lodging brands, including Residence Inn, Courtyard, Springhill Suites, TownePlace Suites, and Fairfield Inn.
Earlier in his career, Tom held positions of increasing responsibility with Ernst & Young in its Hospitality Industry Consulting Services Group.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from University of Florida and a master’s degree in Hotel and Foodservice Administration from Florida International University.
